The mission of Helping Hands is to nourish our community with kindness and respect without judgement.

We are more than a food bank; we are a solution center. The Helping Hands Solutions Staff can offer support and assistance to issues that contribute to an individual or family experiencing food insecurity, including unemployment, homelessness, and more.
As a non-profit organization, we partner with local food providers and community organizations to provide the best services possible, making a positive difference for local families and our community. It is all possible because of our generous community support.
The Vision of Helping Hands Food Bank is to address the inequity of the food bank experience and ensure every citizen has access to high-quality food and resources to help them thrive.
We are Skagit County’s largest direct food provider. In 2025 we distributed over 1.8 million lbs. of food to the community at our six distribution locations across Skagit County
Helping Hands is open four days a week at our distribution site and offices in Sedro-Woolley. We also have 6 different distribution sites across Skagit County (Anacortes, Burlington, Hamilton, Marblemount, and Swinomish) to offer easier access to more of our neighbors in need. We require no prequalification to access our resources.

Contributions from our local community allow us to continue providing assistance to those who need it.

Whether 30 mins or 30 hours a month, giving the gift of time makes a big difference.

Helping Hands Food Bank serves multiple distribution sites throughout Skagit County, Monday through Friday.
228,887 visits across all sites
1.8 million lbs. of food distributed
14,584 hours worked by Volunteers

Helping Hands was awarded a $542,000 Transportation Emissions Reduction grant from Puget Sound Energy!

The funding from this grant will go toward two major projects for Helping Hands.
The first is a new all electric mobile food bank. This mobile food bank will give us the ability to serve those areas in Skagit County that are underserved by bringing our resources directly to them.
The second project is an EV outreach vehicle. This vehicle will give our staff the opportunity to reach out to individuals and families in need that may not be able to come in to the food bank due to a lack of transportation or other reasons.
We are so excited for these new vehicles and the opportunities they will provide to our community and the future of Helping Hands.
